Tom joined Elysian in 2015 and has more than 20 years’ operational management and board-level experience in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Africa. As an operating partner, Tom focusses on the lifetime of an asset under our ownership and helps grow and improve businesses from a non-financial perspective. Before joining Elysian, he advised the oil and gas portfolio companies of UK buyout firm Doughty Hanson on strategy and business improvement programmes. He previously worked as director of global operations at P&O Nedlloyd Container Line from 2004. He went on to become director of vessels and equipment in the global assets team on the company’s acquisition by AP Møller-Mærsk and later, UK director of strategy and process excellence. He started his career with transportation services company SDV Transami in East Africa before moving to management consultancy AT Kearney in 2001. He holds a degree from the University of Edinburgh and a MBA from business school INSEAD.
