Elysian Capital has expanded its Investment and Operating teams.
Tom Falcon has joined Elysian as the second of the firm’s full time, in-house, Operating Partners. At Elysian, Tom will work on helping Elysian portfolio companies and their management teams achieve their full potential together with assisting the deal teams in sourcing and transaction completion. Tom has more than 20 years of operational management and board level experience spanning several continents, sectors and companies. He began his career with SDV logistics in East Africa before becoming a consultant with A T Kearney in 2001. He joined P&O Nedlloyd in 2004 as Director of Global Operations and when P&O Nedlloyd was acquired by A.P.Moller-Maersk, the world leader in transportation, Tom was made Director of Vessels & Equipment in the Global Assets team and then Director of Strategy and Process Excellence for The Maersk Company in the UK. From 2008-2014, Tom was the Production and Distribution Director on the board of Shepherd Neame, a major regional brewer. Immediately prior to joining Elysian, he advised executive teams in Doughty Hanson portfolio companies within the oil and gas services sector, focusing on strategy and business improvement programmes.
Tom is a co-opted member of the Executive of Campden BRI, Europe’s pre-eminent food and beverage research and service group and has played significant roles in the brewing and shipping industry lobby groups. He has a degree from Edinburgh University and an MBA from INSEAD.
David Colclough is joining Elysian Capital as Partner with a view to building our deal sourcing and execution presence in the important Manchester market. With 16 years of investing in the North following 3 years in corporate finance, David has a depth of experience and network of contacts across the region. Elysian is already represented in the North of England through Phil Greves in Leeds and together, David and Phil give Elysian a very strong, local coverage in these two very important and dynamic centres.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant David spent 3 years in the corporate finance team of PwC advising on a variety of MBO's / MBI's, buy and builds and trade sales. David joined 3i in 1999 and spent 13 years with the business culminating in running the Manchester office. During this time he completed a range of investments from small MBI's to larger take privates and portfolio acquisitions. David joined the Business Growth Fund in 2012 to help establish the business and source and complete investments across the north. David joins Elysian to build on our successful regional coverage.
David has a first class degree in accounting and finance from Liverpool John Moores.
In addition to these two new external hires, Elysian is pleased to announce the promotion to Investment Director of Jack Jacovou and Laura McCoy. Jack qualified at Smith & Williamson and worked in their M&A advisory team before joining Elysian in 2008. Laura qualified with Deloitte in Dublin, working in their Corporate Finance department until joining Elysian Capital in 2011. Both have been instrumental in the success of Elysian Capital Fund I and will continue to expand their roles in to the new fund.
